
Jo's career as a singer, songwriter, actress and recording artist started when she was introduced to theatre at the age of eleven. Born in Watford, England Jo was raised in New Zealand where she graduated with an "A" grade Diploma in Jazz Performance from the Christchurch Polytechnic School of Jazz.
In the same year she was presented with the Jazz soloist of the South Island Award. Since then Jo has gone on to study all forms of entertainment including dance, stage/television acting & vocal technique.
Her list of credits include a lead role in The Official Tribute to the Blues Brothers, a featured role in the hit TV series "Hercules", and singing backing vocals for some high calibre international artists such as Tina Arena, Mark Williams & Margaret Urlich.
Jo's first single "Closest Thing to Heaven" was released through Warner Bros Music New Zealand, & went to number 5 on the New Zealand pop charts.
Since moving to Sydney in 1998 Jo has built up a name for herself within the music industry & has an impressive list of Band credits and clients that she has performed for including The Brothers of Oz, Steve Clisby's Miracle 8 Project, Telstra Corporation, P&O and IMG.
Jo is constantly performing
around Sydney as well as being an in-demand session singer & voice
over artist. She feels at home playing guitar, piano or percussion as
well as singing in large Jazz ensembles with some of Australia's most
respected artists.
With influences such as Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah
Vaughan, Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey, We find a world class vocalist
in Jo. With all her achievements as an entertainer, stage, screen and
television commercial work, you will recognise why this talented young woman is in such
great demand.
